What Global Manufacturing Excellence contributes to Cardinal Health
Global Manufacturing Excellence is responsible for executing the strategic goals for operational excellence within a business segment, unit, or function including the selection and development of resources, managing the project pipeline, and ensuring ongoing communication about progress against goals. Works with multiple cross functional teams, business practitioners, and/or senior leaders and pursues independent actions to synthesize findings, develop improvement recommendations, and lead initiatives.
Responsibilities
Lead and drive the Manufacturing Excellence program in the manufacturing network and value streams to drive results in the areas of Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and People
Responsible for executing hands-on continuous improvement projects to support standardization by product category in multiple manufacturing sites.
Identify, develop, and execute projects to support process optimizations and cost-savings
Conduct gap assessments of current business and/or functional performance using fact-based research techniques
Apply world class best practices and process improvement tools while producing results for business segment
Gathers and interprets internal and external customer requirements for a segment or multi-segment process and establishes optimal process parameters
Provide training and coaching on continuous improvements tools and techniques to build internal competencies
Responsible for aligning with senior leadership and other key stakeholders to develop and implement performance improvement recommendations
Qualifications
Bachelors in Engineering or related field, or equivalent work experience directly related to continuous improvement preferred
6+ years of experience working in medical device manufacturing setting preferred
Preferred Certifications: Lean Six Sigma Black Belt
Familiarity with Injection Molding, Automation, or Sterilization processes preferred
Experience working with FDA Quality Systems Regulations and ISO Quality Systems preferred
Experience in Kaizen processes, implementations, and continuous improvement recommendations
Experience with change management and influencing, negotiating, and communicating across multiple organizational levels
Familiarity with SPC, Experimental Design, and Statistical Sampling Techniques
Travel expectations: up to 75% overnight travel, domestic and international
