The position involves development of custom instrumentation to support vision research experiments, including consultation, design and fabrication. The instrument maker will work directly with scientists and students engaged in vision research to build new equipment and maintain existing equipment. The instrument maintains the machine shop and other select instruments at the Kellogg Eye Center. The instrument maker collaborates with technical staff at Kellogg to build equipment.Design and fabricate precision instruments for research.Maintain and repair certain specialized instrumentation. Maintain instrument shop operations, including; scheduling and coordinating online work orders, ordering and stocking supplies, and routine equipment maintenance.
