Job Summary
The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for design, development, and improvement of manufacturing processes by analyzing product and manufacturing methods. In addition, this position requires maintaining quality and safety standards, document control, and supporting the engineering needs of all manufacturing operations. The incumbent will also lead a cross functional team to implement improvements to existing equipment, manufacturing methods and tooling.? Additionally, the Manufacturing Engineer is tasked with leading the maintenance department to implement and ensure proper preventative maintenance is being performed on all in house equipment.
Essential Functions
- Support Sales Department with order status and tentative build dates, ultimately developing a system to support order status communications.
- Review and calculate labor, material, and other production costs along with reviewing schedules and future production requirements to assist management in decision making.
- Ensure that the company’s manufacturing processes follow all government laws and regulations.
- Analyze and plan workflow, equipment placement and space requirements to improve manufacturing efficiency.
- Develop and provide all necessary engineering documentation for manufacturing processes.
- Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing processes and manufacturing methods.
- Evaluate quality control processes and make recommendations for improvements in quality control.
- Assure product and process quality by designing test methods, testing finished product and process capabilities, establishing standards, confirming manufacturing processes.
- Provide manufacturing decision making information (data) by calculating production, labor, and material costs.
- Collaborate with outside sources for tooling design, design simulation, and tooling production as needed.
- Coordinate equipment maintenance and repair services and make sure that manufacturer’s procedures and instructions are followed to keep production equipment operational.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Professional Qualifications & Minimum Education Requirements |
The successful candidate’s qualifications will include:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college.
- Focus of study in one of the following: Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
- 4 years of experience in manufacturing environment within an assembly or welding/fabricating environment.
- Proven computer and software use skills. Advanced knowledge of MS Office suite, Power Point, Excel, and Microsoft Teams proficiency.
- Interpersonal, organizational, time management and leadership skills.
- Accuracy and attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Exceptional organizational and multi-tasking skills.
- The Manufacturing Engineer position will be based in City of Industry, CA reporting directly to the General Manager.
- The individual in this position will spend several hours working/standing in a production environment. He/she may also have to do some light to moderate lifting of supplies and materials from time to time.
- Unless other arrangements are made with supervisor, the individual in this position works a full-time schedule week during our open business hours. Position requires candidate to be available after hours and weekends.
- Up to 10% travel is expected for this position. A current U.S. Passport is required.
