In this role, you will be responsible for planning and coordinating the work of Supplier Quality Engineers (NPI SQEs) and you will independently support the implementation of new product implementation (NPI) projects globally.
Team Lead will supervise the work of the entrusted Team, set goals, monitor the timeliness of the implementation of the entrusted tasks, represent the Supplier Quality Team at meetings by presenting reports, communicating risks and will provide feedback to subordinates and superiors. The selected person will also be responsible for the continuous improvement of Supplier Quality processes, implementation of tools aimed at preventing and reducing risks in implementation projects.
The successful candidate is a leader and facilitator; is dynamic, driven, organized and detail oriented; excels in program / project management. A highly collaborative disposition and excellent interpersonal skills are a must to effectively communicate at all levels. Strong leadership skills will be required as you lead NPI process definition and execution across a global team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to thrive in an ambiguous environment and is adept at facilitating actions and resolving conflicts.

Essential Job Functions:
- Managing an entrusted team of Engineers (2-6 people). Building an effective, responsible team that carries out assigned tasks in an effective manner
- Improve Supplier Quality NPI processes, practices and standards with an emphasis on prevention activities (i.e. design/drawing reviews, risk assessments, part qualification, process qualification, supplier development, design considerations, etc.).
- Responsible for fulfilling the role of quality expert with focus on early engagement and preventive quality planning with suppliers. The role collaborates with sourcing, project management, engineering, ensuring consistent application of quality techniques, participates in risk identification, drives mitigation and quality planning activities with suppliers.
- Lead NPI communications and influence change across internal and external stakeholders.
- Drive material and supply chain readiness for NPI builds from concept phase to production, partnering with cross-functional teams to ensure a successful production release.
- Identify and communicate supply chain risks and mitigation plans to ensure materials readiness for NPI builds as well as production releases.
- Develop and maintain standard metrics that clearly communicate the overall health and status of NPI projects.
- Drive initiatives and process improvements to help the team to become more scalable.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's in mechanical, electrical or industrial engineering or other related technical degree
- Legal authorization to work in the US is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum 8 years of related work experience.
- Minimum of 4 years Quality Engineering Experience
- Active category B driving license and willingness to travel (25%).
- Expert knowledge of Supply Chain processes; may include supplier performance, sourcing, materials, procurement, sourcing.
- Works well in a team environment, highly motivated.
- Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
- Strong people / interpersonal and communication skills.
- Work independently, remain calm under pressure and deal with ambiguity
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Prior leadership experience
- Prior experience in Supplier Quality, Product Quality and/or APQP processes/ tools.
- Prior experience in managing a certified quality management system (e.g. TS 16949, ISO 9001)
- Technical knowledge with mechanical and electronic commodities (e.g. plastics, sheet metal, connectors, PCB/PCBA) as well as the associated manufacturing processes and part design considerations.
- Experience with software suppliers' quality management and project management is a plus
- LSS certificate is welcome (Geen Belt, Black Belt)
- Project management experience. Certified Quality Engineer/ PMP is a plus.
