Understanding and Harnessing Robustness of Non-Model Yeasts for Conversion of Complex Substrates into Fuels and High-Valued Chemicals
A post-doctoral researcher position is available in Dr. Trinh's laboratory in The Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at The University of Tennessee, Knoxville. The candidate will work on a DOE-funded project that fundamentally studies robustness and metabolism of non-model yeasts (e.g., Yarrowia lipolytica) and engineer them as efficient and robust biocatalysts for biosynthesis of fuels and chemicals from lignocellulosic biomass and plastics wastes. This project is a collaboration between Trinh lab at The University of Tennessee Knoxville and research scientists at The Oak Ridge National Laboratory and The US Department of Agriculture.
