The Impact You'll Make in this Role As a Sr. Electrical/Hardware Product Engineer, you will be part of a team of engineers responsible for supporting commercialized electronic products and systems used in the Food Safety industry. These exciting new systems utilize electronics-based hardware, sensors, and wireless technologies. In this position you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
Designing and optimizing system level and circuit board hardware design with digital, analog, and mixed signals including optical systems, LED and other illumination techniques, image capture technology, and wireless communications.
Acting as a liaison to outsource manufacturing partners to support life cycle management, product updates, line extensions, change management, and qualification of new designs
Supporting new product development and next generation designs
Working with outside certification agencies for product safety (UL) and EMC/CE/FCC certification
Helping customer support teams trouble shoot customer complaints and feedback
Communicating progress and issues to key stakeholders to ensure alignment, prioritization and support on project plans, timelines, and deliverables
Working alongside a combination of internal, third-party, and offshore development teams
Your Skills and Expertise To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Mechanical engineering (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution AND Three (3) years of experience in product engineering support of electronics-based products in a private, public, government or military environment
High School Diploma/GED or higher (completed and verified prior to start) AND six (6) years or experience in product engineering support of electronics-based products in a private, public, government or military environment
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
Familiar with injection molded plastic design
Experience with vendor management
Experience with Six Sigma tools/process
Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Mechanical engineering with electrical experience from an accredited institution
Travel: May include up to10% domestic/international
Relocation Assistance: May be authorized
Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
