Applicants should have an earned Ph.D. in civil engineering, materials engineering, or a related field at the start of the appointment. Registration as a Professional Engineer (P.E.) is desirable. The successful applicant is expected to assist the department in offering core and elective undergraduate courses, as well as graduate courses in their area of specialty, with a demonstrated commitment to teaching excellence and inclusive pedagogy. They will also have the opportunity to teach in our burgeoning online program. The successful applicant is expected to develop an active research program leading to national and international recognition. CEES will serve as the academic home for the successful candidate, but joint appointments with other academic units will be considered, depending on research interests and expertise.
