Where the Chemistry Happens
The Sparta Site is a manufacturer of engineering plastic, polyamide, polyethylene terephthalate, and polybutylene terephthalate, used in the transportation, consumer, industrial, and construction industries.
We are seeking a professional like you to coordinate activities for the Process Engineering and the Color Process Teams. Lean Six Sigma training and certification is desired. You must be willing to complete Green Belt certification in the first two years.

Formula for Success
Leveraging your education in Chemical, Mechanical, or Polymer Engineering or Chemistry and any experience you may have in color matching and color quality control, you will be the expert on color processing for the North American Engineered Plastics business.
Successfully engaging within the organization, you will work side-by-side with a Product Development Specialist to assure timely and capable product introduction, manufacturing, scale-up, cost assessment, properties retention, and customer satisfaction as directed by our Site & Global Business Teams, CLC process, and customer / sales needs.
Utilizing any experience you may have in Process Engineering, you will develop direction for the Process Engineering team.
Your plastics compounding experience will be a valued asset as you maximize overall efficiencies for the compounding operation including compounding rates, quality and safety improvements, machine efficiencies, yield increase, optimizing processes (both mechanical and manual), and production process improvements and simplification, communicating and transposing these successes to other site operations and manufacturing processes.
Your excellent understanding of pigments and dyes and how they influence color, cost, UV, heat stability, and properties of polymers will be essential as you t roubleshoot process control problems, identify causes, and make recommendations for improvements and/or implement improvements.
Demonstrating your superior color vision as determined by Farnsworth Munsell 100 Hue test, you will provide color matching direction, leadership, and supervision for the colorists.
Your strong leadership and problem-solving skills will serve you well as you help lead Color Q.C. Technicians in resolving production color issues and reformulation to assure efficient product manufacturing.
Working well with others, you will collaborate directly with sales, marketing personnel, CLC process, and R&D to assure proper screening, documentation, and formulation control of incoming color match requests.
Being familiar with customers' applications vs color performance and manufacturing, you will be responsible for all out-going color match quality, timeliness of delivery and communication to sales and customers on cost and any color delays, or other technical issues.
Must be able to pass the Fransorth Munsell 100 Hue Test
