The Senior Process Engineer will be based in Buffalo Grove, Illinois. The Process Engineer will be responsible for leading process engineering activities focused on cost, quality, and innovation in order to support an injection-molding operation to support new business.

Here is a glimpse of what you’ll do…
Responsible for all plastics related projects and will be responsible for them “cradle-to-grave”; from design to introduction into manufacturing, scale-up, full production, and throughout the product lifecycle
Molding Process Engineer will ensure that appropriate SOP’s or Work Instructions are developed for existing and New products. Create process books, FOT/ FAT documents. Create Work Instruction for tool setup
Work with Tooling engineers to specify tooling requirements, and manage tooling design and development; including cavitation, tool material, runners, gating, texture and other critical areas.
Participate in design reviews for tooling, EOAT and molding cell.
Implement safety, productivity and yield improvements
Molding Process Engineer coordinates all applicable product testing verification and ongoing validation to meet product specifications as well as comply with applicable local and governmental regulations and any specific agency or industry regulations/requirements
Overseeing installation of capital equipment for injection molding processing including machines, tooling, and auxiliary equipment
Develop and give technical presentations
Here is some of what you’ll need (required)…
Bachelor’s Degree (Polymer and/or Plastics/Materials Process Engineering preferred)
6+years of hands-on engineering and/or process validation experience in an Injection Molding facility across varied machines, resins, and auxiliary equipment
Strong Hands-On injection molding processing and troubleshooting ability using scientific approach such as DOE, gained through at least 5 years of experience in this area
RJG Master Molder certification (or other scientific molding certification)
5+ years injection molding tooling knowledge
Experience with world class machines (Netstal, Krauss Maffei, Roboshot, etc) and tooling maintenance procedures
Comprehensive knowledge and thorough understanding of robotics (Wittmann, Sepro) and auxiliary equipment used with Plastics Injection molding machines
Experience in Moldflow, Minitab is required
Experience of Multi-Shot molding, automated color blending and central material drying system (Conair, Wittmann)
Experience with engineering grade materials
Ability to effectively communicate with all levels
Ability to communicate root cause issues and actions being implemented
Relentless continuous improvement driver
