Packaging and Material Handling Engineer-Geismar (1803110)
Where the Chemistry Happens
We are seeking a professional like you to provide maintenance and reliability engineering expertise in the areas of material handling and packaging to an assigned area of the site. You will be responsible for collaboration with Production and Maintenance personnel and providing services related to design review, repair and maintenance, including predictive/preventative maintenance activities. Additionally, you will provide technical support to Root Cause Failure Analyses, troubleshooting of problems, and monitoring PM and PdM programs. Finally, you will ensure a culture of continuous improvement employing LEAN Manufacturing tools.
Formula for Success
Leveraging your educational background in a Mechanical or Industrial Engineering discipline, as well as your extensive professional experience within a chemical/petrochemical and/or manufacturing environment in material handling and packaging, you will provide maintenance and reliability engineering expertise in the areas of material handling and packaging to an assigned area of the site
Your in-depth, hands-on knowledge of material handling equipment, packaging equipment and warehouse equipment associated with packaging operations, including conveyors, palletizers, drumheads, shrink wrappers and banders, etc. is essential in equipment troubleshooting and problem solving,
Your detailed knowledge of the design and maintenance of material handling and packaging equipment design, including reliability programs and activities associated with this equipment is essential in providing technical guidance.
Your thorough understanding of maintenance and reliability work processes is vital to this role.
Your experience with programmable logic controllers (PLC’s) associated with packaging and material handling and your knowledge of vibration analysis and equipment lubrication programs will allow you to troubleshoot problems.
Your strong communications skills will be a valued asset as you provide facts and figures to influence, persuade and negotiate.
Your experience and knowledge of SAP is preferred.
