SCOPE
This role provides leadership and strategic direction to global sales, marketing, R&D, and operations (Wayne, NJ & Worcester, Mass.) focusing on the profitable growth of Photovoltaic Films and Extruded Films activitities. The position also represents Performance Plastics’ Composites Photovoltaic activities with Saint-Gobain Solar (Parent-Company Activity). This position is a key and highly visible position both within the Performance Plastics Division as well as the parent company.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Directly manages and influences the strategic direction for the photovoltaic and extruded films business by developing, planning and communicating strategy, setting budget goals and objectives. Objective creation and management include sales, margin, profit, PV marketing, acquisitions, new markets/products, capital expenditure and resources for the business. • Partners/Collaborates with business leadership and functional leaders to build and implement innovative, high quality, cost effective growth and business development plans. • Participates in the Succession Planning, Recruitment, Staffing and Retention, Performance Management and Leadership Development processes for direct staff members as well as coaches, mentors and supports direct reports in engaging in these activities with their direct reports. • Responsible for overseeing on a direct line basis, the management of the Wayne, NJ operations as well as develops and coordinates with Product Management, Applications Engineering etc. to support global business development and growth. • On a dotted line basis, manages a portion of the Worcester, Mass. Site possessing recently capitalized operations with state of the art film extrusion and lamination capabilities that require close oversight to advance technical innovation, quality, and cost competitiveness. • Key contributor to providing support and interaction for developing new customers and suppliers while maintaining solid business relationships with existing customers. • Influences the activities of sales, operations, and R&D, communicating closely with other Saint-Gobain photovoltaic-focused businesses in an effort to optimize volume and profit for the business. • Consistent execution and emphasis on company policies with utmost focus and attention to Health, Safety, and Environment targets, initiatives, policies and impact.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE • Career progression must show clear evidence of sustained outstanding performance. • Will have the ability to work in a matrixed and hierarchical reporting environment, coordinating activities in a cross-functional setting. • A bachelor’s degree is required in business or technical field; an advanced degree or MBA is preferred. • 7+ years of experience within a growth marketplace and diverse manufacturing organization.
