Essential Job Duties:
We are seeking for a candidate with a PhD degree in civil engineering and experiences in multidisciplinary research related to structural and seismic engineering, structural mechanics and high temperature component failures under extreme loading and environment conditions. Experience in conducting material and large scale structural experiments, developing, implementing and using advanced constitutive models for cyclic visco-plasticity and damage analyses, microstructural characterization based on optical and scanning electron microscopy, and finite element structural analysis using advanced constitutive models for evaluation of failure responses are essential for this position.
This position is a 12 month position and the continuation of it is dependent upon funding.
Mentor graduate and undergraduate students in performing their research activities.
Developing research proposals and writing manuscripts to publish journal papers.
Attend and present at conferences.
Requires doctor’s degree, an equivalent degree, or equivalent professional experience
Able to teach undergraduate and graduate courses, collaborate across disciplines, and develop strong externally funded research programs.
Ph.D in Civil Engineering [Structural Engineering and Mechanics Concentration] or a closely related field.
